Since it was founded in 1955 by Kerang local John R. Dunstan, DFE continues to be a proudly Australian owned and operated business, still based out of Kerang, in Country Victoria.

DFE continues to concentrate on FARM MACHINERY manufacture; however as a measure to "drought-proof" the company in what has been tough times for the farming industry, DFE has recently moved into a new venture of safe manufacturing for Melbourne based company LOKAWAY PTY LTD. Under the control of company director and owner Brett Dunstan (son of the late John R. Dunstan), Lokaway has engaged DFE to concentrate on gun safe manufacture for the retail market with a view to moving forward into the commercial, domestic and overseas market.

In a move to improve and increase DFE’s ability to service the needs of its clients, in 2007 DFE was acquired by Ballarat based company The Roadcon Group. As a leading property developer in both Victoria and Queensland, The Roadcon Group have diversified into other core businesses including Cattle Farming, Concrete Plants and now Manufacturing.

With such a strong reputation already established in the farming community, the DFE name will remain as the brand to move the business forward.

DFE will continue to be very versatile, innovative and quality driven, farm machinery and safe manufacturer, with the additional contract with Lokaway creating new employment opportunities for the firm and the town.

We currently have 30 employees on the payroll of which 4 are apprentices, and in 2007 will be looking at employing another two apprentices, in order to continue with expansion into the future and maintain our excellent reputation in the market place for quality, reliability, competence and above all, friendliness.
